TBN founder Paul Crouch is in the hospital and the Christian broadcasting network is asking supporters for prayer.
From TBN Trinity Broadcasting Network’s Facebook page (posted Oct. 22, 2013):
“Please join us in praying for Dr. Paul Crouch, who is currently in the hospital. Prayers for complete healing and quick recovery in Jesus name.”
There’s a report online that when Crouch was hospitalized in 2011 for another heart issue, that his son “Matthew Crouch took a picture of his mother Jan Crouch holding a letter showing that Matthew would be the next president of TBN.”
This was done allegedly in anticipation of Paul Crouch’s death.
According to Wikipedia:
Paul Franklin Crouch (born March 30, 1934) is a religious broadcaster who, along with his wife Jan, co-founded the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). …
Crouch family members control the boards of all TBN entities, which makes TBN “ineligible to join” the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, an evangelical self-regulating group. A May 2012 New York Times article noted the lavish personal spending of Paul and Janice Crouch, including “his-and-her mansions one street apart in a gated community” in Newport Beach, California. Paul Crouch received $400,000 in executive salary as president and his wife $365,000 as first vice president of TBN. Brittany Koper, a granddaughter of the Crouches who had authority over finances, claimed that TBN appeared to have violated the IRS ban on “excess compensation” by nonprofit organizations.
