Typhoon Haiyan smashed across the Philippines last week, leaving thousands dead and injured and tens of thousands homeless. Amid all the rubble was one prominent fixture.
Some are calling the uncanny image a sign of hope.
The Examiner reports:
A Jesus statue, approximately two stories high, stands unscathed as the typhoon leveled the buildings all around it. Typhoon Haiyan leveled entire towns in the Philippines, but this statue of Jesus eerily stands with its arms spread wide open as if it is blessing the devastated area.
According to CNN Belief on Nov. 13, the statue is found in the coastal town of Tanauan, in the central Philippines. Now comes the questions, was this a divine intervention? This Jesus statue looks untouched as the storm ravished everything within miles of the religious symbol.
Apparently religious statues defying the odds and emerging in one piece during a natural disaster is more prevalent than you would think. Two statues of the Virgin Mary did the same thing during an earth quake last month, a devastating quake. Is this Jesus statue standing erect over land that was emulsified a sign of hope?
